Zachary R. Weaver

Attorney

Zach grew up in Mobile and has deep family ties throughout the Gulf Coast. After graduating from the University of Alabama in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in finance, he attended law school at Mississippi College School of Law in Jackson, Mississippi. While in law school, he worked with the Rankin County Prosecutor’s Office and Mobile County District Attorney’s office. He also secured an internship with Mobile County Circuit Court Judge Edmond Naman at the Strickland Youth Center. Throughout law school, Zach was able to volunteer his time with the Mississippi Volunteer Lawyers Project and the South Alabama Volunteer Lawyers Program. He is still an active volunteer with the South Alabama Volunteer Lawyers Program handling a variety of cases pro bono. Zach graduated law school cum laude in May 2011.

Following graduation, Zach began practicing law as a solo practitioner. In his practice, he represented individuals in a variety of criminal and civil matters. He then went to work in civil insurance defense, defending individuals and companies in workers’ compensation and personal injury matters. Ultimately, Zach’s desire to help people pushed him to leave insurance defense and join The Hanley Law Firm. Zach joined The Hanley Law Firm in 2021, primarily handling the firm’s civil and domestic relations practice. Zach’s practice concentrates on general litigation matters including car wrecks, slip and falls, workers’ compensation, divorce, custody disputes, and criminal cases. Zach’s diverse legal background has provided him with invaluable experience that allows him to better represent his clients.

Zach is a member of the Mobile County, Baldwin County, and Alabama Bar Associations. He is also an active member of Government Street Presbyterian Church in Mobile, where he serves as a deacon. He is on the board of directors of a local trust that provides annual financial assistance to charities in the Mobile Area. He is also on the Board of Directors for the South Alabama Volunteer Lawyers Program. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children and being in the outdoors.
